• Feng and Joe's paper has been accepted by HotOS'05, a prestigious workshop on visionary, innovative ideas

• Zhifeng and Yan's paper "Empirical evaluation of Multi-level Buffer Cache Collaboration for Storage Systems" has been accepted by SIGMEMTRICS'05, the best conference in measurement and modeling. SIGMETRICS'05 is very competitive with 13% acceptance rate (31/237)

• Pin and Feng's ISCA'04 paper, iWatcher, and Zhenmin's ASPLOS'04 paper, performance-directed energy management has been selected into IEEE special issues on Top Picks from Architecture Conferences, Dec 2004

• We have got 1 paper accepted by HPCA'05, a top conference on architecture. The acceptance rate is only 15%(28/181)

• We have got 1 paper accepted by Micro'04, a best conference on micro-architecture. The acceptance rate is only 18%(29/158)

• We have got 1 paper accepted by OSDI'04, the best conference on operating systems, alternating with SOSP every year. The acceptance rate is only 14% (27/193)

• We have got 2 papers accepted by ASPLOS'04, a top conference (held only once every two years) in multi-disciplinary research between architecture, operating system and compiler/program language. The acceptance rate is only 14% (24/169)

• Two summer students, sponsored by the CRA-W DMP (distributed mentorship project) from Univ. of Utah will work with the group for the summer

• Five of our members will spend their summers in IBM research labs and NEC lab for their summer internships, 2004
